Fun build and detailed set, albeit a little pricy
ExcellentSieve021· Review provided by LEGO · November 16, 2024
I've been hoping for a UCS version of Jabba's Sail Barge for a while, and this model certainly delivered what I was hoping for. It's also not grey, which makes a pleasant change! It was an enjoyable build from start to finish, and it was helpful to build it from the bottom up so you know how big it will be once completed. The interior is very detailed, which makes a change from many UCS models that are really just a very detailed shell. While there were some stickers, it was nice to see some printed bricks instead for the smaller pieces. While I bought it for display purposes, it has quickly become my niece's favourite, as there are may minifigures and plenty of areas to make up stories in. Now, if she would only watch the movie to understand the backstory...

That said, the price is a little steep for the piece count, particularly since you really need to buy the Desert Skiff and Sarlacc Pit (75396) to complete the set (it even says this in the enclosed manual!). For the price, it would have been nice to have the skiff and pit included as a single, complete set. Nonetheless, I'm very happy with the build and appearance.
Best UCS set to date
Weebus· Review provided by LEGO · December 24, 2024
This is, without a doubt, my favorite UCS set that I have built to date.

This builds more like a modular building than a standard Star Wars ship. The build experience has everything you want in Lego. Lots of clever techniques, brick work, and fun details. The technic is kept at a minimum compared to most UCS sets. The result is absolutely stunning.

While there are some who complain about the price tag, I found a lot of value given the size and detail of the set. My only major complaint is the lack of minifigures. Behind the Mos Eisley Cantina scene, the sail barge scene has the second most fun cast of characters, and the Lego set consequently needs figures to round it out. While there are some great minifigures included, I would have liked a few more both to justify the cost and to round out the scene. I found myself gathering up additional figures from older sets to fill up my build on display. There are still more notable characters that haven't been made in minifig form, and not everyone has or has the ability to purchase old and often expensive figures.
Almost perfect Sail Barge

I will preface this by saying I purchased this on day one so was lucky enough to receive the Luke's Lightsaber which helped offset the cost.
This was a set I was really looking forward to building and as soon as it arrived I was keen to get started! I will say that the barge is magnificent. Its a good size, the build is fun and the finished result is excellent and very detailed. It absolutely mirrors the original. The fact it has a wonderful interior is just the icing on the cake.
You'll notice I didn't give this five stars and its for two reasons why: The cost. Most people simply can't afford a £430 Sail Barge that really needs another set (Skiff & Sarlacc pit) And two the minifigs. They are are mixed bag of perfect and mediocre. And when spending over £400 I want perfection.
So in summery try and get this at a discount or maybe sell some of the minifigs to offset the cost. But if you're a massive fan then its a must buy!
It’s good but not great

So despite this being a major cash grab from our LEGO beholder, it’s a good set. With that being said the whole GEF purchase many people didn’t get (I got mine) is so silly that they allowed the “ouT oF STock” thing to happen. I am more of a collector then a builder and I’ve to display my box’s just as much as a lover of LEGO who builds their sets. Unfortunately my box was received extremely damaged and abused. Lego stated that they do not intend their box’s/packaging to arrive in a good condition and is used as a form to protect they set its self. I can understand this but seriously? You mean the box where you spend god knows how much to have such lovely printing and presentation? Huh excuses like always. Offered a mere 1000 vip points for my issue. Sigh on to another issue. The set is a great build but not worth the money asking. Mini fig selection is great but the detail is trash just like Lego usually does to us Star Wars fans. Guess we’ll just keep gobbling it up as they shove it down our throats. Care little bit more Lego to us Star Wars fans. Much love-JR
