I was extremely excited and intrigued by Owala bottles, but couldn’t justify shelling out $30 for a small water bottle when there wasn’t a colorway I loved. Then after months of debating, the DICK’s special colors came out and I loved the Spring Fling color, so I immediately hopped on it! I also bought my husband one in another color.

In comparison, my cap was significantly more difficult to close- it’s like the spring in the cap was stiff and fought against the push of the cap. But it was still functional and I didn’t think it was so bad… until one day after only a month, when I pressed the button to open the lid, the spring somehow jumped ejected and the open button also flew off.

When I tried to utilize the limited warranty, my claim was estimated to be replied to in 1-3 weeks. My claim wasn’t reviewed until I checked in myself 4 weeks later, only to be given a gift card to purchase a new lid from the website. All of the lids were sold out except the completely white and completely black color. I joined the restock waitlist for a few different colors, but there wasn’t even an option to get a replacement for my specific colorway, which completely defeats the purpose of me getting a bottle in the first place.

TLDR; getting the bottle was a disappointment from start to finish. Lid came slightly dysfunctional and broke within a month or so of use, had to wait another month for claim to be acknowledged, and had to wait even longer just to get a cap that had some kind of color that doesn’t even match my originally desired color way.

A solution for the warranty process would be to send the exact replacement of the broken item instead of making us purchase a replacement of the broken part.

I would not recommend this product to anyone and am disappointed in the warranty process.

The Owala water bottle is by far my favorite water bottle design out there. The combination of its ability to keep drinks their proper temperature (both hot cold), the built in straw (my favorite part!), and the convenient carrying “handle” makes these bottles standout amongst the rest. The Owala bottles are durable, and are so easy to clean. They are a fair price point ($20-30), and come in SO many colors. Temperature Control: I find the Owala keeps a drink’s temperature for multiple hours. Ice stays solid for quite a while too. Built in straw: A miraculous design point of the bottle. Allows you to “chug” or “sip” as you desire, based on the drink. Please note you want to remove the straw for drinks that are of higher temperatures. Carrying Handle: The bottle comes with a carrying handle that also works as a “lock” to close the bottle. It is a very good design with its function (nice “click” as it “locks”), and I find myself swinging the bottle about. Colors: If you haven’t seen, go on the Owala website to find a plethora of colors available. They come out with new ones *so* frequently (and there are really good “seasonal” ones, such as a recent Glow-in-the-dark Halloween bottles. ======= I have used many different brands of water bottles but Owala really blows the others away in so many aspects, that I could not find myself going “back” to any other bottle system (I have purchased (for myself and friends) 8 bottles). I purchased the Owala Flask from Target on 11/24/23, and it quickly became an indispensable part of my daily routine. Whether I'm commuting, at work, or traveling, this flask has been a reliable companion, always ensuring my beverages stay at the perfect temperature. One of the standout features of this flask is its user-friendly design. It's incredibly easy to use and carry around, making it a convenient choice for anyone on the go. In fact, I was so impressed with its performance that I decided to gift one to my younger sister. However, my positive experience hit a snag when the top covering the opening and closing mechanism unexpectedly broke on 4/17/24. I was understandably devastated, but my faith in Owala and Target was quickly restored when I reached out to Target's customer service team. Their professionalism and efficiency in handling my issue were exemplary. Despite the purchase being made several months ago, they promptly assisted me and facilitated a replacement without any hassle. This level of customer service truly exceeded my expectations and reaffirmed my loyalty to Target. I encountered a setback with the Owala Flask, the outstanding support provided by Target's customer service team turned it into a positive experience. I'm grateful for their assistance and look forward to continuing my patronage with both Owala and Target. Thank you!

I have purchased two Owala water bottles from Target over the past year, and both have had issues with the lids. The pin came out on one bottle, and the lid wouldn’t close. On the other, the spring in the button broke, making it impossible for the lid to stay closed. I attempted to get replacement lids under their "lifetime warranty," unfortunately, they refused, claiming these defects were due to "non-standard use." The water bottle has been used exclusively in a standard manner—my college-age child uses it for classes—and has not been subjected to impact damage or nonstandard use. The product’s durability should reasonably exceed four months under such conditions. I am disappointed in the quality of this product. Since we've experienced similar issues with two separate bottles, it seems this is a common problem. I would not recommend these water bottles, and I would not expect much from this company’s “limited lifetime warranty” on their products.
