in Aruba (and Bonaire and Curacao) it is called 'kenepa'
Just visiting from Ottawa, Canada. Had my first taste of a guinep the other day. I am hooked. Had dreams of them prior to coming here. Guineps rule!

Lived in St Lucia in 1970's and loved them. We called them guineps.
And in Bimshire, we call them ackees
One recipe I know for this is "chenet chow" in a large bowl place a few bunches of peeled chenet/kenepa/guinep, add salt and black pepper to taste, add one peg of freshly ground or crushed garlic, mix well, place in the refrigerator for 20 minuets then serve
In Jamaica, this in called guinep.
In Belize English specking people call them quinep and spanish speaking people call them waya.
They are also called guineps in the Cayman Islands. Just gave one to my coworker who is form the UK to try. It was his first one :D and he's been here 7 years :o. Also I thought lychee tasted like guinep and am happy to know they are related.

Guinep/Ginep in GT. Most Guyanese would taste and buy this hay ๐๐๐๐๐. We would peel it then put it inna bag with pepper and salt an rub it in ๐๐๐๐.
